Mitt’s background in consulting, state government, and higher education includes more than 35 years of diversified experience in information technology, project management, and governmental auditing (financial, operational and EDP). He served in a management role at KPMG prior to starting STA. It was in this role that Mitt gained considerable experience with enterprise administrative systems and identified the opportunity to add considerable value in advising governmental clients from an independent perspective.
Mitt has led numerous ERP/administrative systems engagements through the full acquisition life cycle, including current state assessment, As-Is/To-Be process mapping and analysis, business case/return on investment (ROI) analysis, requirements definition, requests for proposal (RFP) and other solicitation documents development for the acquisition of ERP and other enterprise administrative systems and the associated services required to successfully implement and operate/manage the selected solution, ERP software and services proposal evaluation support, contract negotiations assistance, and project oversight of ERP implementations. He has a thorough knowledge of public sector financial management, budget development, procurement, human resources, payroll, and student administration functionality.
Mitt has considerable experience in assisting state and local governments, and institutions of higher education in evaluating ERP systems, including solutions offered by CGI (Advantage), Ellucian (Banner), Infor (Lawson and CloudSuite), Oracle (PeopleSoft, eBusiness, and Cloud), SAP, and Workday.
He has considerable recent experience with the latest Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) software products. Mitt has worked on numerous public sector ERP projects, including statewide ERP engagements for the states of Arkansas, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Nebraska, Nevada, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia, and Wisconsin; local government projects for the Texas cities of Houston, Fort Worth, Round Rock, and Victoria; and higher education projects for Arizona State University, The University of Texas at Austin, The Texas A&M University System, and Texas State University.
